Sweet Stampin - Scallops

Morning :)  I hope everyone has some fabby plans for the weekend and that the weather might give us a break!  The flash flooding here on Thursday night was horrendous, it just came from nowhere.  Luckily we live quite a bit higher than the river and it has to cross a field or two before it reaches us, but the cottage further down the lane got 3 foot of it as it broke down fencing and took all the path away as well as a couple of trees!

Anyway, my card today is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin where this week our theme is 'Scallops'.  We are sponsored by the brilliant Crafts & Me, and also our montly sponsor is the ever-generous Joanna Sheen, so a chance to win a lovely prize too!

I used a gorgeous image I bought a while ago called Moon Glow by Hannah Lynn, and this was just fabulous to colour.  I hand-stitched MME papers onto white bazzil card and used an MS PATP for the scallopey border. I used Spellbinder, Memory Box, Marianne and Doo Hickey dies on this and the gorgeous flower is from WOC.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Wild Orchid Challenge - Punch it Out
Crafts & Me - Birthdays - this card is intended for my nieces birthday on 18th July :)
Crafty Catz - Show us your metal - pins

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, I am doing my best to catch up with everyone and hope to grab a few hours over the next couple of days - in the meantime have a smashing weekend!

Anything Goes at Charisma Cardz

Morning :)  Back again today with my DT card for Charisma Cardz where this week our new challenge is 'Anything Goes'.  We are sponsored by DigiStamp Boutique and Digi Doodle Shop so some great prizes to win too!

I matted and layered blue and white bazzil card and cut the cornflowers out on my Cameo.  I sponged the cloudy background with chalks and the image is the fabulous PomPom from Lili of the Valley - deffo one of my 5 favourite stamps of all time! :)

My card is pretty CAS for me, and there is a reason for that........................

Meet wee Hector

A tornado/bulldozer thats recently arrived at our house to seriously eat into my crafting time!  :D LOL.

I have spent the week tied to a mop, chasing him round the house and making sure the introduction of a new pup to an already established pack goes relatively smoothly. :)  We have 2 other English Springer Spaniels (Kevin & Oliver, 8 and 6yrs)  and its so important to get this right.  Still - my house, my rules and I am the 'Leader of the Pack'! :D lol

My husband picked the name Hector, I wanted Nigel, but on reflection we are thinking that 'Ivan the terrible' might have been a better choice - I'm knackered! lol :D

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Crafty Calender - Flowers in Bloom
Do You Stack Up - Blue Skies & Clouds
Emerald Faeries - Birthdays
Dream Valley Challenges - Thngs with Wings
I ♥ Promarkers - Anything Goes
Nutcrafters - make a scene
Fab n Funky - Cute & Girly

Lili's Little Fairies - A little bit distressed - I used Chipped Sapphire Distress Ink round the edges of the background - I hope this counts, if not then please delete my entry :)

My Mums Craft Shop - Favourite Stamp - I have 3 LOTV stamps that take turns as my favourite stamp, PomPom is one of them :) Please delete my entry if this doesnt count, but its soooo hard to choose! lol
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, I will be catching up with everyone and my comments over the next day or two, its just been a teensy bit manic this week,

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge - Weddings/Anniversary

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

Our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week is to make something to celebrate either a Wedding or Anniversary, and this is a fabulous excuse to go really lavish and classy to create a special keepsake.  I decided upon White on White, as I love seeing what dimension and detail you can create from something that just started out as  a few sheets of the same pearl white card.

I used the gorgeous Polynesian Sails Oval frame for the centrepiece of this card as it has a real wow factor and is a great size for any image, and the Border Carnivale die is tucked just behind. I then set about making the flowers using Judy's Blooms and cutting 4 layers (using both large and small for the biggest flower), adding stamen from the Build A Flower set, and then holding them together with pearl brads. I love the way Cheery Lynn Dies have such embossed details especially on leaves and flower dies, it makes such a huge difference and works so well on pearl card.

All dies used on this card are:

This week is your last chance to enter our monthly competition to win a Big Shot Die Cutter and as always we have a fabulous weekly prize of $20 to spend online in our store too. I hope you find time to join in this week, and dont forget there is always wonderful daily inspiration from the rest of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog.

Summer Daze at Joanna Sheen Challenge

Tut! what pants! :(  I had just typed all my post out, and then blogger crashed, deleted it from drafts, and I lost all my links ...........and now the plot! :( grrrr!

Anyway, our new challenge over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge this time is 'Summer Daze' and I used this glorious Faye Whittaker decoupage sheet from a set called 'In the Garden'.  These really are a fabulous size and sooooo beautiful!  Its lovely sometimes to just sit cutting out, and I had a lot of fun with this.

I matted and layered lilac and white bazzil card,  and attached some flocked mesh with floral brads.  I dug out my flowersoft and added it to the beautiful bonnets and the lavender in the lane,  and used an MS punch for the borders.  This is an 8 x 8 scalloped card, so a really good size! :)  I hope you find time to play along and visit the rest of the DT too and see their wonderful creations!

I hope everyone has a smashing Sunday,

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge - Red, White & Blue

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

So, our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week is 'Red, White & Blue' and as always we have a great prize of a $20 voucher to spend in the store and also this month you have a chance to win a Big Shot Die Cutter in our draw at the end of the month.

I hand-stitched MME papers onto bazzil card separating them with the Lace Light Deco Border and then cut 2 of the largest dies from the Heart to Heart Doily, backing the doily with contrasting paper and just trimming round the edge.  The centrepiece of this is the gorgeous One Free Wish  die, cut again with white card and inked around the edges.

The stars are just one of the dies in the  Build A Flower set and the sentiment tag was made by using the smaller of the  Two of Hearts dies, which I cut 3 times using different card and paper and just offsetting the smallest  heart which I trimmed down in size.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Divas By Design - To Die For
Creatilicious Challenges - Anything Goes
Emergency Crafters - Anything with wings
Saturday Challenge - Red, White & Blue
Craft Your Days Away - Bingo - Pearls, Ribbon, Glitter
Lexi's Creations - Happy Birthday
Really Reasonable Ribbon - Red, White & Blue

GDT at Top Tip Tuesday - Stars & Stripes

Good morning :)  I am so excited to have been asked to be the GDT for Top Tip Tuesday after being picked for 'Who caught our eye'  in a previous challenge  - I am thrilled and honoured ladies, thank you! :)

So, the new challenge for the next fortnight is 'Independence Day and/or Stars & Stripes' and this is open to interpretation - it doesnt have to be red, white & blue!  We are sponsored this time by the generous Crimson Cloud and the brilliant Bugaboo Stamps who were kind enough to give me this wonderful image - Jesse Moon - to play with.

I opted for a shaped easel card and hand-stitched MME & K&Co papers.  The dies are a mix of Spellbinder & Memory Box and the punch is MS.   I found some old perspex stars in my stash, some were clear and some were gold, so I coloured the gold ones with metallic green PM's and twisted wire on them to make them look like shooting stars.  The sentiment is LOTV.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Papertake Weekly - Bingo - Glitter, Die-cuts, Free
Creatalicious Challenge - Anything Goes
Nutcrafters Challenge - Spots &/or Stripes

Thanks for popping by my blog today, and I hope everyone has a smashing day! :)

Morning everyone :)  Todays new challenge over at Sweet Stampin is 'Summer Fun' and we are sponsored this week by Stamp And Create who are offering the winner a massive $25 gift certificate and also one of our regular monthly sponsors - the brilliant Joanna Sheen .

Now I have had this wee fella for ages and this is the first time I have used it! Shame on me!  Its one of my favourite Mo Manning images as it just makes me grin!

I coloured with PM's and Flexmarkers and attempted for the first time to make a cloudy background - that was fun!  I cut out my own clouds with my Cameo and just coloured round with the Glacier Blue Flexmarker.  The Pinwheels and Starfish were also cut on my digicutter, and added beads to the starfish with glossy accents.  The papers are MME, and I printed my own sentiment.  I also used Marianne and Spellbinder dies and MS punches.

Cheery Lynn Designs - Roses

Good Morning fellow crafters and bloggers! :) I hope everyone is having a great week!

This week over at the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge our new theme is 'Roses'.

As always we have a great prize of $20 voucher to spend online in the store, and this month we have an extra special  monthly prize of a BIG SHOT for a random winner selected on the 2nd July!  Brilliant! :)

For my card I used one of my favourite Mo Manning images and coloured her with PM's and Flexmarkers.  I hand stitched K&Co paper and made the roses using pearly pink and shimmery pink  paper from my scrap box.  The very best thing about making your own blooms is that you can make them match perfectly, and use up all those oddments! :)

Sandy has done a brilliant tutorial on making Roses from Cheery Lynn Dies HERE using  the Large Rose, Medium Rose and Miniature Rose dies.

I made 3 different size blooms from the same 3 size dies including the rose-buds by cutting 3 layers of each size for the larger roses, and just scaling down in size for the smaller ones.  They are secured with tiny brads and a blob of Viva Decor Pearly Pen.

All dies used on this card are:

Cheery Lynn Designs - Mega News and Make It Manly Challenge

Hi and Good Morning :),  Today I have some really exciting news about our new challenge over at the Cheery Lynn Designs blog where our theme this week is  'Make It Manly'.

We not only have a great prize on offer again this week, but also we have an additional, exciting incentive to play along! Each challenge entry during the month of June will get their name added to a drawing to win a BIG SHOT die cut machine! You may only enter the weekly challenge once but you can enter all four challenges during the month of June for a better shot at winning. The winner will be announced on July 2nd.

Now like many card-makers and crafters I struggle with making masculine creations, as without the bling, flowers and flourishes I always feel like I have put less effort into it, but with Cheery Lynn Dies, I can still go to town adding embellishments and focal points that are suitable for any occasion.  There is a great collection of corners, borders and scrolls that are intricate and fancy without being feminine.

I have used one of my favourite corners from the set - Lace Corner Deco H, added a flourish with the Mini Flourish One and also made the border from the offcut from Cuties 3 to add impact and detail to this card.

I also wanted to show on this project how versatile the Reflection dies can be, as not only do they go up to very large sizes, but they can also be sized down to make wonderful mats for your sentiments too.

I hand-stitched MME papers, used a super-cute Nellie Snellen stamp coloured with PM's and also used metallic PM's for highlights.

All dies used on this card are:

Favourite Stamp - Sweet Stampin

Corrrrr! This was a tough choice!!

This week over at Sweet Stampin the theme for our new challenge is 'Favourite Stamp'.  We are sponsored by the fabulous Letraset and the ever-generous Joanna Sheen so some really corking prizes! :)

This is also a brilliant excuse to get out those much loved (and oft neglected) stamps and have a play with some old favourites! :)  I spent a good hour looking through my LOTV box and it was such a hard choice, but I finally settled on 'Maisie' on a shroom as I love this little pudding :D lol.

I used MME and Prima papers, Kraft card, added some ric-rac ribbon, a wooden flower and coloured my image with PM's then 'Ta-da', it was all done.  Really quick and simple for me eh? ;)  - Wot! No dies, no punched borders, no flourishes, swirls and flowers?  lol :)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Lili's Little Fairies - Anything Goes
Oldie But Goodie - Anything Goes
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Bunny Zoes Crafts - Anything Goes
The Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope everyone has a smashing weekend!  I will be celebrating the Diamond Jubilee by making Red, White and Blue Cupcakes, serving salmon and cucumber sandwiches (minus crusts) for tea on Sunday and other random very british things.  Many generations of us Brits have only ever known what its like to live in the UK under the reign of one monarch, so hats off to Lizzy for 60 years public service - a remarkable achievement Ma'am! :)
