Bling, Bling, Bling - Charisma Cardz

2nd Post of the Day

Back again with my 2nd post of the day, where our new challenge over at Charisma Cardz this week is 'Bling, Bling, Bling!' This is quite a picture heavy post, but I have compressed the pics so I hope they dont take too long to load.

We are sponsored by Crafty Emmas Store and Digistamp Boutique, so well worth playing along :)

I have been meaning to make one of these 'Magic Cards' since I first saw this brilliant tutorial by Marianne over at Stampartic and whilst it took quite a bit longer to assemble and decorate than a normal card, I really enjoyed the whole construction of it. :)

I used one of my favourite stamps from Crafts & Me called Turn to Hesed.  She is almost all glittered with very fine Art Institute glitter in various shades but you cant see so well in the pic.

I used MME papers and decorated inside and out with Cheery Lynn Dies and MS Doily punch.

I always cover brads on the inside of cards with Card Candi - it works a treat! :)

The back is also decorated fully with MME Papers, Cheery Lynn Dies and the MS Doily Punch.
The flowers were Ebay and the white dotty ribbon is Joanna Sheen and I have attached a heart charm to the flower spray.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Crafts & Me - Add A Ribbon
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Creative Inspirations - Diamond - Lots of sparkle
Craft Your Days Away - Red White Blue
Ooh La La Challenge - Make It Girly
The Shabby Tea Room - Colour Me Pretty
Allsorts Challenge - Happy Birthday to someone special
Moving Along with the Times - Cool Brittania - Red, White, Blue
Bunny Zoes Crafts - Anything Goes
My Mums Craft Shop - Red, White, Blue

Thanks so much again for visiting my blog today and I will be hoping to catch up with my comments when my internet is restored to full speed on 1st June :)

C.R.A.F.T. GDT Card - Cerridwen

1st Post of the Day

Morning :)  Here with my first post of the day and my last card as GDT for C.R.A.F.T Challenge, I have thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it :)

Our new challenge for this week is 'Background Text' and again there are multiple sponsors and lots of chances to win a fab prize.  We are sponsored by My Heart Pieces, EyeCandie Creations and Saturated Canary and our Star of the Month winner will receive a prize from Stitchy Bear Stamps.

I was given this gorgeous image 'Cerridwen' to work with and she was just wonderful to colour.  I used a mixture of MME and Prima papers and coloured the image with Promarkers and added shimmery highlights with a Sakura shimmer pen.

The border punch is MS, the dies are Spellbinder and the flowers are WOC.  I followed the sketch over on Sketch Saturday and once I had chosen this to work with, this card really just seemed to make itself :)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Bunny Zoes Challenge - Anything Goes
Sketch Saturday - Brilliant Sketch
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
I ♥ Promarkers - Use a digi

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today, and please pop back later to see my second post :)

Joanna Sheen - Remember When

We are going vintage this time on the Joanna Sheen Challenge where the theme for our new challenge is 'Remember When'.  The winner will receive a fabulous £15 gift voucher to spend online at Joannasheen.com so well worth joining in!

I was given this wonderful stamp set called Ladies of the Night to play with, and there are oodles of brilliant images in this from steampunk to couture.  They are great as either main images or accessories too.

For my card I hand-stitched MME paper (I am on a roll with these!) and designed my own suspenders on my digi-cutter and stitched the ribbon to them.  I stamped the images on lightly patterned paper and added extra shading with DI pens.

I also hand-stitched tiny black seed beads for extra dimension and added black glitter for a bit of bling. The word was cut on my Silhouette digi-cutter too.

I really enjoyed making this card and got quite carried away with it! lol :)

I will be entering this card in the following competitions:

Oooh La La Creations - Ribbon or twine
Totally Gorjuss - Something New - stamps

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope everyone is having a smashing weekend,

C.R.A.F.T. GDT card - Recipe

Well what a relief to be here today - my pc is still having mega-sulks and until I can fix my grafix driver issue I am plagued by BSD's and usually just when I am in the middle of something important..... bah and tut!! :(

Anyway, enough of my PC woes and moans,  my card today is for our new challenge over at C.R.A.F.T Challenge where this week we have a recipe to follow:

2 or more Designer Papers
Add a Tag
Use Glitter

We are sponsored this week by Die Cut Dreams, Sassy Studio Designs and Trimgym's Digistamps so plenty of reasons to join in :)

Right, now onto my card....... this was my first ever attempt at using my new Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pens, and I found it a very different colouring process to using PM's.  If anyone knows any good tutorials (either step by step or YT) then I would really appreciate it, as this appears to have been beginners luck, and I have really struggled today on a different project to get even a half decent result. :(  I invested in some proper watercolour card, so I know its not that, but I do think its a different method of colouring altogether and feel I have quite a lot to learn :)

I coloured this gorgeous Festive Fairy LOTV image (I LOVE this stamp) and used MME papers.  I stamped extra foliage in black at the top corners of the papers and inked the edges.  The poinsetta flowers were also made with MME paper and the border is spellbinders.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Crafts & Me - Fabulous  Flowers
Sketch Saturday - Fabby sketch - thank you :)
Crafty Catz - Girly Time
Crafty Calendar - Things with Wings
Creative Card Crew - Dimension
Moving Along with the Times - Celebrate anything but Birthday

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I will be popping round to visit later :)

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge - Add a Window

Morning everyone :)  I hope you are all getting some of this glorious warm and sunny weather where you are, its nice to make the most of it up here before the midges start appearing! lol

So our new challenge this week at Cheery Lynn Designs is 'Add a door or window', and the moment I saw this gorgeous window die I knew it would be perfect for a wedding card.

I hand-stitched K&Co papers to ice white pearl card and also cut all the other dies with the same 300gsm pearl card.  I added one of the corners from the Lace Corner Deco I set to the top of the window, and decorated the bottom with a section of the Mini Flourish Band.  I then added 3 Mini Fanciful Flourish dies before I added my stamped image, and blinged it up with a few pearls.

All the dies used on this project are:

One Free Wish

Good Morning :)  First of all I just wanted to say thanks for all the lovely comments on my last card, and well done to everyone who spotted it was upside down! lol :D It made me feel so much better to read that others had done it too.  You will be relieved to know that once the glue had dried I managed to peel the whole topper off intact and spin it round the right way! ;)  Phew!

So today I thought I would share another DT card I made last week for the New Release Cheery Lynn Dies.  Again I have used the gorgeous 'One Free Wish' die, Iris Leaves and another one of the new corners from the Lace Corner Deco H set.

I hand stitched Prima Fairy Belle papers, and also used the Lace Light Deco Border and my favourite flower dies - Large Rose, Medium Rose and Miniature Rose dies - these are brilliant as they cut several at once! :)  The stamens were from the new Build a Flower set #1 and come in a range of sizes so really versatile and useful.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Crafts 4 Eternity - Wonderful Wings

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope everyone has a brilliant week!

Ooops!!

Morning :)  Happy Weekend!

Well I always say if you are going to 'bob it up' then do it with style!!!...  Spot the ever-so obvious and not so deliberate mistake on this card - LOL :D  No prizes for guessing, but I am not giving any clues.  Answers in the comments box please! lol.

So our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin this week is 'Faeries &/or Angels' and we are sponsored by the fabulous Emerald Faeries - I LOVE these digis! :)  and also one of our regular sponsors the brilliant and ever generous  Joanna Sheen.

I hand-stitched MME Indie Chic Saffron papers, used MS PATP, Spellbinders and Marianne Dies, and the flowers are WOC.  This card was a little bit 'lastminute.com' (having rejected 2 earlier attempts) and so in my haste I made an upside down card! :D lol.  ....or the mischievous little Isla did it! ;)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Wild Orchid Challenge - Anything Goes
Mariannes Design Divas - Spread your wings
Paper Sundaes - Things with wings

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, I hope everyone has a smashing weekend!

Make it Charming - Charisma Cardz

2nd Post of the Day

Whew...... 2 posts in one day!! :D lol.

Our new challenge over at Charisma Cardz this week was chosen by me, and I picked one of my favourites embellishments to add to a card - 'Charms'.  I love to see dangling charms, they really add movement to a card and always make it look so special.  We are sponsored this week by the brilliant Joanna Sheen, Meljens Designs and Crafty Ribbons.

I hand-stitched some uber-gorgeous papers on this card from Bearly Mine Designs, using sheets from the Mini Dots, Paper Lace and Floral Fantasy collections.  I loved being able to size them to fit and and pick my own shades :).  I coloured my Tilda with PM's, used MS punches for the doily background, border and butterflies, and the flowers are WOC.

The pink dotty satin ribbon is Joanna Sheen, the gorgeous heart pin is from my blogging buddy Karen (thank you!) and the dragonfly charm is from my stash.  The mini doily is a Spellbinders Persian accent blinged up a bit, and I have no idea where I got the silver beaded loops from lol!

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Bling It Up - Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge

Morning fellow crafters and bloggers :) Back again today with my DT card for Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge where this week our theme is 'Bling it Up'.  The winner of the challenge will win a $20 voucher to spend in the online store and as there are some GORGEOUS new release dies this week, this is a brilliant prize! :)

Now, I can definately say I was inspired by my sister when making this card! lol :D  We have a brilliant friendship and though we live 600 miles apart, its just about perfect! ;)  I know she would really appreciate this card too as I am guilty of cutting her fringe off when we were little whilst no one was looking! ;) I thought it looked much better lopped off, but mum had to drag her off to the hairdressers to get it finished! lol :D  Soz Sis!

I have had this funny Mo Manning 'StepSisters' image for ages, and this is the first time I have used it, but I think I grinned the whole time I was making this card, they have such funny cross faces! I hand-stitched MME Vanity Fair papers, and used just one corner die from a set of 3 in the new Lace Corner Deco H set and also used the new Mini Fanciful Flourish die on the dotty panel.

I made the larger flower from the Sweet Williams Die and added stamens from the new Build a Flower #1

The base of the card has the new Spring Flower Burst doily, and again I repeated the corners, flowers, stamen and the Queen Anne's Lace border die.

All the dies used on this card are:

Shades of Purple - Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge

Good Morning fellow crafters and bloggers, I hope everyone is having a great week so far? :)

My card today is for our new challenge over at the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge, where our theme this week is 'Shades of Purple', and the winner will receive a brilliant $20 gift voucher to spend online in the Cheery Lynn Store.

I think I have mentioned before that I struggle with 'Purpaidh', as its such a strong colour to work with, so this was quite a challenge for me too! :) lol.

I played with a couple of gorgeous new dies I hadn't used before, and I was blown away at how brilliantly they cut and how detailed the results were. I started off using the Cathedral Lace Frame for my back-drop and overlaid it onto lilac vellum to soften the colour a little. This is such a wonderful die and very versatile too.

I used white bazzill cardstock to cut both the large and the small Lace Faerie Queen Butterflies - arent these just fabulous! :) They also have such beautiful detail. I cut matching angel wings in vellum and this gave it lots of fluttery dimension. I coloured my stamped image, and cut off the original bat-wings, as I was wanting something a little more delicate and pretty  :)

I had such a lot of fun making this card and used all the below dies:

DL148 - Cathedral Lace Frame
DL160 - Large Lace Faerie Queen Butterfly
DL161 - Small Lace Faerie Queen Butterfly
B160 - Queen Anne's Lace
DL 193 - Horizon Coved Rectangle

I hope you find time to play along with our challenge this week, and I look forward to seeing some fabulous creations. Dont forget, there is also daily inspiration from the other talented members of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog, and if you visit the Cheery Lynn Designs website you can see there is not long to go before the NEW RELEASES!!! :) These are so exciting!

4 Legged Friends - Sweet Stampin

Well I cant believe its Saturday already, this week has flown by - I think its been all the sun!! ;) lol.  It was certainly tricking trying to photograph my card due to all the rays coming through the window!  :D LOL

My card today is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin where this week our theme is '4 legged friends' :)  awww!  We are sponsored by the brilliant Joanna Sheen for our monthly prize and also the fabby Whimsy Stamps for our weekly prize, so 2 chances of winning a great prize :)

I used a cute little Penny Black stamp, and hand-stitched Fizzy Moon and MME papers onto crisp white bazzill card.  I thought I would try just punching 2 sides of the backing card with the MS punch to give it a different look, and I think it turned out ok, and then added some candy pink and white twine in a cross-stitch.

The dies are a mix of Doo-Hickey and spellbinders and the bow is Anna Griffin.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Paper Sundaes - Ribbon and Pearls
Marianne Design Divas - Pearls and Swirls
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
