Cheery Lynn Designs - Kraft Challenge

Hi and Good Morning :)  Back again today with my card for our new challenge over at the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog where this weeks theme is  'Keep It Krafty' .  As always the winner will receive a brilliant $20 voucher to spend online in the Cheery Lynn Store.

I used a 6 x 6 inch Kraft Card base, and all the layers and dies were cut from one other additional card base so everything would match.  I layered Prima Romance Novel Papers and inked the edges with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.  I made the gorgeous bunting by using the Pennant die and cutting one layer in card and one layer from paper.

The 'waste' from the paper sits perfectly on top of the pennant, and I still have the paper pennant to use on another project.  I coloured my image with Distress inks and a gold pen, and the background was created using the Fall Leaves embossing plate - I was really pleased with how this turned out, as its quite a subtle effect and didnt overpower the image or the rest of the design.

I stamped my sentiment on one of the new sentiment frames as these are a perfect size for cards, and  layered 2 of Hearts, Mini Flourish, Dimensional leaves and a button, and finally added twine, card candi and a charm from my stash to finish.

All dies used on this project are:

GDT @ Make My Monday - Vintage Travel

Sooooo......... this is my last card today as a GDT for Make My Monday, and its gone so fast ! :)  Thanks so much ladies for having me, the challenges have been really inspirational and I have enjoyed every one ! :)

The theme this week is 'Vintage Travel Around the World'.  This was another challenge that had me rooting through my stash as I knew I didnt have any stamps that would fit the bill.  I do however have heaps of vintage ephemera and old images but as they are part of my 'treasured stash' I dont like to use them ! lol :D

I found an old paper pad from Crafty Individuals with quite an eclectic mix of vintage images and just mixed them with some MME Paris and Co papers, Flowers from WOC and  MS Deco Fan PATP.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and for all the lovely comments on my last card and my blogger issues.  I know I get quite hissy over blogger changes, and am extremely reluctant to even entertain the idea of changing my browser to google chrome - I dont think I should have too ;)  I suspect most of my issues are to do with very slow satellite internet, and thats not something I have a choice over, so I will just have to 'get on with it' :D lol !

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Wild Orchid Crafts - Autumnal colours

I hope everyone has a smashing week, and I will be popping along to catch up later,

Sweet Stampin - Use a Charm

Oh my days - I am not a happy bunny! :(  Where did my old blogger go?  My internet speed is rubbish at the best of times and it really cant cope with all these new features and widgets, it had me in tears yesterday as not one page, post or feature would load. :( Bah! (I got signed out of this page twice whilst writing!)

I sent the appropriate feedback to google/blogger - I dont think they will like it! LOL!! :D

Anyway, onto cheerier things - my card for today is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin where this week we want you to show us your charms! :)  We are sponsored by the ever generous Joanna Sheen for our monthly prize and also by Emerald Faeries for the weekly prize.

I used another of my favourite Bugaboo images from the bonnets collection, and just coloured with PM's.  The backing paper is Fizzy Moon, the border is Memory Box and the snowflakes are all Cheery Lynn dies.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I hope everyone has a smashing weekend,

Make My Monday - GDT - Vintage Wedding

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone is having a good start to the week.  There was a distinct feel of autumn in the air yesterday, and it rained all day too- bah!

This is my 2nd card as a GDT for the Make My Monday challenge where the month long theme is Vintage and this week it is 'Vintage Weddings'.

The gorgeous picture was from a set of ye olde postcards from Joanna Sheen and as they are no longer available I never want to use them up!  I always meant to stick them in a photo album and pretend some of them were my ancestors! lol :D

I stitched Prima and HOTP papers to cream card, and used 2 different MS PATP to make the backing mats.  The dies are a mix of Cheery Lynn, Memory Box, Doo Hickey and Marianne and the flowers are WOC.  I threaded pearl seed beads onto the flower stalks and the charms are from stash.  The organza ribbon is Joanna Sheen and the gorgeous hat pin was made by my blogging buddy Karen (thanks hun).

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Wild Orchid Challenge - Layer it up
Die-ing for a challenge - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today and have a smashing week! :)

Sweet Stampin - White On White

Good Morning fellow bloggers and happy weekend! :)

Todays card is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, where this week our theme is WoW.  We are sponsored by our regular monthly sponsor Joanna Sheen, and our weekly sponsors are Letraset, and also one of my teamies Natali's own shop Iva Nova Chest - so some fabby prizes up for grabs!

For my card I used Ice Pearl Centura 300gsm cardstock and layered up embossed and die cut panels.  The dies are a mix of Spellbinder and Doo Hickey and the ribbon and pearly flowers are from stash.  I coloured this cute Tilda with ProMarkers and added some translucent glitter in crystal and pink.  This was my second attempt at this card and is actually re-constructed as my original Tilda looked too small and a bit lost against all the layers and dies.  As a result I'm still not very chuffed with it, but I will chalk this one down to experience! lol :)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Just Magnolia - Anything Goes

I have been a bit MIA or 'off the grid' the last couple of weeks due to our summer holidays, so I thought I would share with you a photo my husband took last night of Eilean Donan Castle.  This was featured in the film Highlander many years ago and I think one of the most iconic places in Scotland.  Its a favourite picnic spot of ours and also much better to visit when most of the tourists have gone home too! lol :D

I hope everyone has a smashing weekend, and thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  I shall be catching up over the next couple of days and thanks so much for all the lovely comments. :)

Cheery Lynn Designs - Stitch it Up

Good Morning :)

So our new challenge this week over at Cheery Lynn Designs is to use stitching (real or faux) somewhere on your project.  Stitching is probably my favourite thing to add to cards as it makes it feel really personal and always looks like it took ages to make.  ;)  Its much quicker for me now I have got the hang of the mini sewing machine though! lol.  As always the winner will receive a brilliant voucher for $20 to spend online in the Cheery Lynn Store.

I started off with a 6 x 6 inch blank card base and stitched First Edition Isabelle papers to brown bazzil cardstock.  I cut the gorgeous Fanciful Flourish in brown card and stuck to the pink paper panel tucked behind the main image.  The beautiful border is the Celtic Weave die with the Queen Anne's Lace at the bottom.  The fabulous doily is from the new releases and is called Pinwheel - this is a stunning die and cuts brilliantly! :)

I added some mini dimensional butterflies for a bit of flutter and a wooden flower and button from my stash.

All dies used on this card are:

You still have lots of time to enter the challenge this week, and dont forget there is always wonderful daily inspiration from the rest of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog.

Have a smashing week everyone and thanks so much for visiting my blog today.

Make My Monday - GDT - Vintage Fashion

No your eyes dont deceive you - it really is a Monday and yes, tis' a post from me!! :) lol.

Last month I was absolutely thrilled and very honoured to be asked to be the GDT for September by the lovely ladies over at Make My Monday - thank you so much! :)  The theme of 'Vintage' runs for the whole month, and this weeks challenge is 'Vintage Fashion'.

This had me scratchin' my head a bit, as though I love vintage I dont really 'do' fashion of any era! lol ;)  Anyway, after a good old rummage through some of my mums stash I found these gorgeous wee cameos which I think came from The Glitter Girls(?).

I stitched Prima Faery Belle papers to black bazzill cardstock and used an MS punch for the deco style mat.  I used a mix of spellbinder and Memory Box dies, added flowers from WOC and pearls and pins from stash.  Pretty simple card :)

I would like to enter this card in the below competitions:

Wild Orchid Challenge - Layer it Up
Simon Says Stamp - Anything Goes
Crafts & Me - Birthdays

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and all the lovely comments, they always make my day! :)
