Vintage - Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi and Good Morning :)

Back again today with my DT card for our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs, where this week our theme is 'Vintage'.  Cheery Lynn have some beautiful and very elegant dies which are perfect for a vintage creation, and I really enjoyed making this style of card.

I started off with an 8 x 8 inch blank card base, so this is quite big.  I layered HOTP papers onto Kraft card and pale cream bazzill card, and the same cardstock was used for cutting all the dies.

I used the wonderful Sophia's Heart doily die for the background and the border lace is the stunning Anastasia Border.  I added the Fanciful Flourish die to the side panel and then matted my vintage photograph using Oval scalloped and oval stacker dies.  I tucked  just one from the set of 3 Lace Deco Corners around the edges of the picture and added some pearls.

The bottom right hand corner uses Victorian Romance Flourish.  This was the first Cheery Lynn die I ever bought and still remains one of my favourites.  I made some baby's breath flower stems (these were soooo easy!), and the larger white flowers were again nicked out of my pot pourri bowl! :D lol.

All dies used on this card are:

Lace Corner Deco H
Sophia's Heart
Anastasia Border
Lace Corner Deco B
Fanciful Flourish
Oval stacker
Scalloped oval stacker
Exotic Butterflies Small #2
Exotic Butterflies - Small
Victorian Romance Flourish
Embellishment #2 - Baby's Breath
Hummingbird
Love
Rose Leaf Strip

I hope you find time to enter our challenge this week, I love looking at all the creative ways everyone interprets the challenges and uses these dies, its such a pleasure.  Dont forget, there is also daily inspiration from the other talented members of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog, so check back often :)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Live & Love Crafts - Autumnal colours
Allsorts Challenge - Stitching
Sketch Saturday - Fab sketch - I flipped it to the side - hope thats ok :)

Have a smashing day, and thanks so much for visiting today.

GDT @ Tuesday Morning Sketches

Awww...... well this is my last week as a GDT for Tuesday Morning Sketches, and I have absolutely enjoyed every single sketch!  Thank you so much ladies for having me, it was a real pleasure.

This weeks challenge is sponsored by Meljens Designs, who generously gave us some super-cute images to play with.  I adore this wee chappie called  Autumn Flower Mouse and found him real fun to colour.

I used MME papers, Kraft Card and green Bazzil card, and the dies are all Cheery Lynn except the wheat die tucked behind some more pot-pourri stash! lol :)

Sorry for the quickie post......... it was my birthday yesterday and I had a late night! lol

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and have a great day,

Cheery Lynn Designs - Texture

Hi and Good Morning :)

Our new challenge over at  Cheery Lynn Designs this week is 'Texture' and as always the winner will get a fabulous $20 voucher to spend online at the Cheery Lynn website, so well worth joining in if you can.

I really enjoyed making my card for this weeks theme, and was aiming for something fresh, light and delicate.  I usually have some kind of image as a focal point on my card, but the Celtic Heart die provided a perfect centrepiece.

I started off with a 6 x 6 inch blank card base and layered ice white pearl card and blue bazzil cardstock.  I then used the Dotted Swiss embossing plate on the pearl card for texture, and added the Border Carnivale and some dotty ribbon at the bottom.

The gorgeous Large Sunflower Doily is perfect for this size of card and creates a beautiful background to the stacked circles and Celtic heart centrepiece.  Finally I added Darling Daisies and the word LOVE from the new release sentiments.

All dies used on this card are:

I hope you find time to play along with the challenge this week, and I look forward to seeing more fab entries.  Dont forget, there is also daily inspiration from the other talented members of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, I seem to be playing catchee-up with my commenting, but I will be round to visit everyone in the next couple of days :)

GDT @ Tuesday Morning Sketches

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone is having a great week so far.

Today sees the start of a new challenge and a great new sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.  This weeks sponsors are Stampfairy, and I adore these images, so well worth playing along if you have time.

I stitched HOTP papers onto ice white Centura Pearl card, and used the same cardstock for all the dies.  The border and image frame are Spellbinders, the tag is DooHickey and the Holly Lace Flourish, snowflakes and sentiment are Cheery Lynn.  I coloured the image with Flexmarkers (love those icy pale shades) and finished it off with some glitter and much forgotten bling :)

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today, and I will be back later today with some VERY EXCITING NEWS!! :)

Now I wanted to keep this card kinda light, clean and simple for me and most of the work was done on my digi-cutter.  I layered First Edition Noir et Chic papers onto black bazzil and used the same card for the die-cutting.  The gorgeous spidey web is Cheery Lynn, and the bat, witch and sentiment were done on my cameo.

Smashing Pumpkins

Good Morning fellow crafters and bloggers :) back again for a 4th day running - woah !

Our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week is Corner Adorners, and as always the winner will get a fabulous $20 voucher to spend online at the Cheery Lynn website.  There have been some stunning creations made this week with the new release dies from Cheery Lynn and I thought I would showcase a few more of the new dies today on this cute seasonal birthday card.

I started out with a 6 x 6 Kraft card base and layered cream and green bazzil cardstock, MME papers and inked the edges with brushed corduroy DI.  I used a fabulous Mo Manning image called Punkin (which is the first digi I ever bought), and then had a great time playing about with some really fun dies.

I joined each Corner die with one of the brilliant Expandable Tiny Border dies - this is now officially my new favourite border die - I love it! :)  I added acorns in the corners, extra leaves and I used the Quilling Strip die to make the rolled swirls in the top corners too.  The wonderful Fall Pumpkin dies cut beautifully and have great texture, but most of all I love the twiddly bits that come with them - they too are so much fun!

Finally, the mini 3d pumpkins were - yes, you guessed it -  nicked out of my pot pourri bowl - lol  :)

All dies used on this card are:

For my card I layered MME Lost & Found Christmassy papers onto bazzil, cream and kraft cardstock and coloured the gorgeous LOTV image with my trusty PM's.  The dies are a mix of Marianne, Spellbinder and Memory Box and the fab street lamp is Cheery Lynn Colonial Lamp Post. I added twine and a wooden button and as you can see I also raided the pot pourri bowl again - it was a different bowl this time though - lol :)

Cheery Lynn - NEW RELEASE DIES!

Hi and Good Morning :)

Today sees the launch of some absolutely gorgeous New Release dies by Cheery Lynn, and just WOW!!

There are some fabulous, seasonal, inspirational and very practical dies that you will use over and over again and I am really  excited by the sentiment sets - they are so useful.  I often forget to add a greeting or sentiment to my creations and to have a wee die with just the right words to hand is brilliant !

My card above showcases just 3 of the dies released today, the glorious Lacey AngelSnowflowers  Set 1, and the smallest 'Celebrate' sentiment.  The matching tag below uses 'Love' and more of the snowflowers (set of 3 different designs).  The main tag was cut out using the Horizon Coved Rectangle smallest die and the matching coved rectangle die.

Please pop over to the Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog to see more of the fabulous new release dies and all the gorgeous work by the rest of the DT !

Last week my internet didnt want to play nicely and blog pages kept crashing, but I will be endeavouring to catch up with everyone this week, so will be popping along later.  Have a smashing day,

Autumn Breeze - Joanna Sheen Challenge

Good Morning & Happy Sunday  :)

Today sees the start of a new challenge over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge blog and this fortnights theme is 'Autumn Breeze'.  The winner will as always receive a brilliant £20  voucher to spend online, so well worth joining in with your seasonal projects ! :)

I used this gorgeous Country Kitchen - Crab Apple stamp set and totally enjoyed doing something completely different for me.  I was aiming for a bit of a grungy look and thats my excuse for learning to paint with Distress Inks - lol.  I used MME papers, MS butterfly punch, and Spellbinders dies.

Now, I am quite an experienced and enthusiastic die-cutter, but I have to say that that wheat die is the most fiddly, time consuming die I have ever used.  It took me a good hour to finally get one piece out without tearing, but I wasnt going to let it beat me.  Most fiddly dies get better with use, but this one proper had me pulling my hair out and kicking off !

The embellies were found in my pot pourri bowl, so the card even smells nice too ! :)

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today and have a smashing Sunday

We have a great new challenge this week over at Cheery Lynn Designs of   'Black & Orange'. and as always the winner will receive a $20 coupon to spend online at the Cheery Lynn Store.

Now I was kind of nervy making this weeks project as Orange is SO out of my comfort zone, but once I got started it was nice to dip into some much neglected orange stash and I was really pleased with how this turned out. :)

I layered black bazzil cardstock, MME and Prima papers onto a 6 x 6 inch card base and then went to town on the dies.  Cheery Lynn have some awesome Halloween and seasonal dies and I used the Spider Web Doily, Spooky Tree, Going Batty, and Witch Hunt themed dies on this card.  I matted my image onto the gorgeous Horizon Coved Reflection die and shadowed it in black card behind.  I also used my favourite Lace Light Deco border die on this card as its so versatile!

All dies used on this card are:

Tuesday Morning Sketches - GDT card

Hi and Good Morning :)

Today sees the start of a fabby new challenge and a brand spanking new sketch over at Tuesday Morning Sketches.

I loved this sketch as it gave me a great excuse to use one of my favourite Marianne D dies and not feel guilty at how quick and simple it was :) lol.  This is also one of the few christmas images I have used more than once as thats really quick and simple too.  I think I could make this card over and over again and just change the paper - lol.

I used MME xmas papers, cream and kraft cardstock, and the brads, gems and twine were from stash.  The Merry Christmas die is Cheery Lynn.

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

Simon Says Stamp - Glimmer and Sparkle
Divas By Design - Texture
Mariannes Design Divas - Stamp Something

Thanks so much for checking out my blog today - I will be back again tomorrow and along to visit later,

Sweet Stampin - Through the Window

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone has some fabby crafting time planned for the weekend.

Now todays new challenge over at Sweet Stampin is 'Through the Window', and this can be interpreted in so many ways - not just a window image, but apertures, or acetate would be great too !

We are sponsored this week by Sew Sweet who have a great prize on offer, and also our regular monthly sponsor is Joanna Sheen.

I felt the need to step up my xmas card making, as I seem to have fallen behind this year and only have about 4 - lol :)  I used blue and white Bazzil cardstock, MME paper and the dies are mostly Marianne D.  I made the tiny poinsetta type flowers using the snowflake plate from Cheery Lynn (there are some really teeny tiny ones on that) and the fence is spellbinders.  The fab sentiment is from Digital Downloads .

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Just Magnolia - Anything Goes with fabric
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Distressing
Crafts & Me - My sentiments exactly
Divas By Design - Texture
Simon Says Stamp - Glimmer & Sparkle

Cheery Lynn Designs - Halloween Challenge

Good Morning fellow crafters and bloggers! :)   Dont ya just love autumn?

I adore this time of the year, the misty mornings, glorious colours, wind, rain, dark nights and things that go bump in the night! lol :)  October is also my favourite month as its my birthday - I was born 2 days early for Halloween, although my mum used to say I was quite a little witch anyway! :D lol.

This weeks challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs is Halloween and my card today uses some of my favourite Cheery Lynn Dies ever!  I started off with a 6 x 6 blank card base and layered MME papers onto black American Crafts cardstock.  This is also the same paper and card I used to cut all my dies with.

For the border I cut 6 of the spider web corners and then added the gorgeous French Lattice Die (which is sooo elegant) on top.  I layered the smallest of the 2 of hearts die for dimension and tucked that behind. The cute bats (yes I think bats are cute!) look brilliant when they are cut and come in 3 sizes.  The flowers are made from my favourite Roses dies and the leaves and stamen are from the increasingly useful Build a Flower set.

The gorgeous Morticia image was gifted to me from my special blogging buddy Judy who thought I needed cheering up after having a tooth removed last week :) aww !  It certainly did the trick - I LOVE this image !  Thanks hun ! :)

All dies used on this project are:

You still have lots of time to enter our Halloween Challenge this week, so I hope you find time to join in and I look forward to seeing some very spooky creations!  Dont forget there is also gorgeous and fresh inspiration from the rest of the uber talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and have a smashing week!
