Summer Bouquet

Hi and Good Morning everyone, today over on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog I am sharing more inspiration using some of the gorgeous new release Cheery Lynn Designs dies, as well as some of my favourite classic dies too! :)

I used a 6 x 6 blank card base, and layered K&Co papers onto white bazzill card.  I placed the gorgeous Dainty Dutch Deco Doily, on top of the base layer of paper and added die cut square and scalloped square mats.

I made the border using the brilliant Alisons's Ribbons (these are so versatile!) and layered the Sophias Heart Border on top.  I coloured my image in PM's and matted it onto the oval scalloped and oval silver stackers, and the stunning new Horizon Oval Boutique Frames.

The heart embellishment was created using 2 layers of the different sized Two of Hearts, and I cut a contrasting piece of paper for the centre heart too.  I added a super-cute bumble bee and also my signature butterfly (Oh.. I use this butterfly on everything!).

The pretty flowers were made from the quick and easy Sweet Williams Strip secured with a pearl brad, and I added some leaves, pearls and a pin for a finishing touch.

All dies used on this card are:

DL141 - Dainty Dutch Deco Doily
XL-2 - Scalloped Square Stackers
L-1 - Classic Square Silver Stackers
B335 - Alisons Ribbons
B333 - Sophias Heart Border

B241 - Rose Leaf Strip

Celebrate - Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi and Good Morning :)

Our new challenge this week over at Cheery Lynn Designs is 'Celebrate', so what better excuse do you need to create something beautiful for the special people and times in your life.  As always the winner will receive a $20 voucher to spend online in the Cheery Lynn Store and over the next few weeks were are looking for guest designers too, with a very generous store credit to get you started!

Now, the DT at Cheery Lynn were presented with some wonderful Magnolia goodies recently, and I just couldnt wait to use this little sweetie! :)  I used a 6 x 6 blank card base, and stitched Magnolia papers onto white bazzil cardstock, and then set about my favourite part of card-making - die cutting!

I added the Celtic Heart and Fanciful Flourish to the base of the card, and then cut 2 strips of the Anastasia Lace Border layering them together and topping off with some pale blue ribbon.  I cut the really gorgeous Kiwi Spirit Doily (this matches the Anastasia border perfectly) and added my image slightly off centre.  The flowers were made from the Cutie Fringe borders, 2, 3 and 4 and I dipped these in some glitter for a bit of sparkle.   I decorated the border with the Two of Hearts and a butterfly, and I added some tiny forget-me-not type flowers to the flourish.

All dies used on this card are:

B188 - Embellishment #2 - Tiny blue forget-me-not type flowers

I hope you find time to join in this week, and I look forward to seeing more gorgeous entries!  Dont forget there is also daily inspiration from the other talented members of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog.

Sweet Stampin - Special Lady/Mothers Day

Good Morning, and Happy Weekend! :)

My card today is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, where this week our theme is 'Mothers Day or Special Lady', so a cracking chance to get out those girly stamps, papers and embellies!  We are sponsored this week by

and our Monthly sponsor is

The DT were all sent some fabby laser-cut embellishments from Hobbycutz to play with (Thank you so much Kobie!)  and I have to say I loved mine!  The toughest choice was deciding which ones to use :)

I decided to keep this card relatively simple and just layered some gorgeous DoCrafts Vintage Notes papers (Thanks Nic!:) ) onto Kraft card and added Memory Box dies and mini doily dies by Cheery Lynn.

Now the image, well......... 'Dont look Ethel - as my mum used to say!' lol.  This little cutie was the 2nd image I tried to colour with DI's last weekend and again, it ended up in the bin. I am finding DI's a real learning curve!   Hubby fished this out of the fireplace and said,

'Well its not perfect, but its not that bad either',

. . . . . so there you are, I have used it!  Anyway, we cant all be perfect at everything - :D LOL! Definately more practise on these methinks ;)

I hope you find time to join us this week, and thanks so much for visiting my blog today - have a smashing weekend!

Marvelous Magnolia - New Beginnings

Morning :)

Hope the weather isnt too bad where you are today - its still very cold here, but yesterday I was out with the dogs and the most beautiful snowflakes were falling :)

My card today is for our new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia, where this weeks theme is 'New Beginnings'.  We are sponsored this week by The Pretty Little Ribbon Shop, so a really fabby prize too.

I used the gorgeous Tilda With Wand for my card, and raided my scrap box for paper, and card scraps.  I used a mixture of Doo Hickey, Cheery Lynn and spellbinders dies, and coloured my image with PM's.  The brads, pearls, flowers and twine are from stash.

I am still struggling along with my internet - QSat have a progressive throttling system throughout the month, so unfortunately things just seem to get slower and slower :(  Its pants tbh, but I keep plodding on :)

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I will be trying to catch up later (if I can get pictures to load!) lol :)

Friends - Cheery Lynn Designs

Blog Candy still open here until 6th January 2013

Hi and Good Morning and Happy New Year! :)

I hope everyone had a fabulous Christmas and New Year holiday and got lots of great stash from Santa!  I got a much needed sewing machine and I love it, its going to save me oodles of time I reckon!  Hubby thinks it will be used for stitching up ripped trousers, and making my own curtains, but I definately have no plans for any of that! - LOL :D

Anyway, its great to be back blogging after a wee break, and its also nice to be able to share someting light, fresh and not at all christmassy!

My card today is for our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs where this weeks theme is 'Friends/Friendship'. As always the lucky winner will win a $20 voucher to spend online at the Cheery Lynn Store, so I hope you find time to join in.

I used a super-cute Tilda, coloured with PM's and layered MME papers and salmon pink bazzil cardstock.  This cardstock was used for all the matting and die cutting, and it cuts beautifully!

I centred my image onto scalloped and circle stackers and then onto the gorgeous Italian Flourish Doily die.   I added some Lace Corners, Butterflies and one of the cute squiggly borders from the  expandables set.  The sentiment was cut out and matted onto coved rectangle stackers - these are brill! - the smallest ones look just like tickets and with 6 sizes in each set they go big enough for most sentiment stamps too.

All dies used on this card are:

You still have lots of time to enter this challenge and the winner will be announced next Monday.  Dont forget there is always fresh and inspirational projects uploaded daily by the rest of our talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog too.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and have a smashing week.

Tis' The Season - Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi and Good Morning :)

My card today is for our new challenge this week over at Cheery Lynn Designs, where this weeks theme is  'T'is the Season' and you still have bags of time to enter to be in with a chance of winning a brilliant prize so I hope you find time to play along.

Now I have loved making my christmas cards this year with Cheery Lynn Dies, there are so many fabulous and seasonal dies to choose from I was never stuck for ideas or inspiration.

I started off with a  6 x 6 inch blank card base and I layered MME papers onto dark green bazzil cardstock.  I cut 2 Tiffany Border dies, enabling me to shadow the dark green with a splash of cream for contrast, and also did the same with the stunning O' Tannenbaum Tree.  I hand-beaded pearl seed beads onto the tree following the patterns on the die and this made it really easy and effective! :)  I  added a the Holly Lace Flourish, Christmas Lights and Holly Corner dies to the card panels before centering my main image onto matted oval stackers.  I finally added a bit of twine, wooden snowflake and a moonstone brad for a finishing touch.

All dies used on this card are:

I cant wait to see what you do with this weeks challenge, we are on the final stretch to christmas, and a hand-made card is always really special both to give and to receive.   Dont forget to check on our Cheery Lynn Designs blog for fresh daily inspiration and more fabulous creations by the very talented DT too.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I hope you have a smashing week,

Marvelous Magnolia - Snowflakes

Good Morning, I hope everyone is having a good week :)

Well the snow still hasnt gone (we had over 6 inches fall from Sunday) and its frozen so hard its absolutely lethal - even my doggies were skating on it when they charged out this morning - lol! :)

My card today is for our new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia where this week our theme is 'Snowflakes' .  Rather fitting really!  We have 2 fabby sponsors and great prizes, so well worth joining in.

&

I layered MME papers onto white Bazzil card and coloured the image with PM's.  The dies are mix of Doo Hickey, and Marianne and the lamp-post and snowflakes are Cheery Lynn.  The ornate gate is spellbinders and took absolute age to get right, then I remembered a tip that was left in my comments box a couple of weeks ago suggesting I try talcum powder - BRILLIANT tip! :)  It literally fell out with such ease, I was amazed! Thank you :)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Marvelous Magnolia - Non Traditional Christmas

Good Afternoon :)

Today sees the start of a brand new challenge over at Marvelous Magnolia where this week our theme is 'Non Traditional Christmas Colours'.  We are sponsored the fabulous Live and Love Crafts, so a brilliant prize and well worth playing along! :)

I hadn't intended to make an easel card, but as I cast aside the scraps of HOTP paper on my desk, they all seemed to fall in place and it seemed a shame to banish them to the scrap box forever! lol.  I have had this HOTP christmas paper pad for years, and there are still has so many gorgeous papers left I doubt I will ever see the end of it!

I am back to hand-stitching as I have no idea how to wind a bobbin on on my cheapo machine. I saw one for sale on Ebay for £3 and was tempted to buy it just for the instructions.  I found it quite a time-saver so it must be worth giving it another go just to try and wind some thread on.

I used an MS snowflake punch for the outer edging, and the dies are a mix of Doo-Hickey, Cheery Lynn, Marianne and spellbinders (so almost a full house) and added cheesecloth, pearls, wooden button and ribbon from stash.  The mini-cones on the tree are again nicked from one of my many pot-pourri bowls! :)   The sentiment is Pink Petticoat and there are also a few LOTV grunge sentiment stamps scattered about this too.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Live & Love Crafts - Christmas
Tildas Town - Anything Goes
7 Kids Challenge - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Ribbons & Pearls
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Divas By Design - 2 or more patterned papers
Stamptacular Sunday - Recipe - ribbon, pearls, dies & punches
Dream Valley - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and I will be catching up later,

Morning :)

So, today sees the start of our 2nd challenge at Marvelous Magnolia where this week our theme is 'Pearls & Lace' (my favourites!).  We have 2 fabby sponsors this week too, and I really, really, really wish I could enter! lol

&

I actually won this gorgeous, cute stamp called 'Rose Scent Tilda' from Tilda's Town earlier this year, and I couldnt resist buying a few more at the same time as they do FREE WorldWide Shipping (how amazing is that!)  - its actually quite often a deal-breaker for me - lol ;)

I hand-stitched Prima Papers and shabbied them up with a bit of white acrylic paint.  The dies are a mix of  Doo-Hickey and Nellie Snellen and the flowers and lace are WOC.  The metal corner and key are Tim Holtz and the twiggy seed pods were again nicked from my pot pourri.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog, and have a smashing day!

Sweet Stampin - Through the Window

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone has some fabby crafting time planned for the weekend.

Now todays new challenge over at Sweet Stampin is 'Through the Window', and this can be interpreted in so many ways - not just a window image, but apertures, or acetate would be great too !

We are sponsored this week by Sew Sweet who have a great prize on offer, and also our regular monthly sponsor is Joanna Sheen.

I felt the need to step up my xmas card making, as I seem to have fallen behind this year and only have about 4 - lol :)  I used blue and white Bazzil cardstock, MME paper and the dies are mostly Marianne D.  I made the tiny poinsetta type flowers using the snowflake plate from Cheery Lynn (there are some really teeny tiny ones on that) and the fence is spellbinders.  The fab sentiment is from Digital Downloads .

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Just Magnolia - Anything Goes with fabric
Bunny Zoe's Crafts - Distressing
Crafts & Me - My sentiments exactly
Divas By Design - Texture
Simon Says Stamp - Glimmer & Sparkle

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and have a smashing weekend !

Sweet Stampin - White On White

Good Morning fellow bloggers and happy weekend! :)

Todays card is for our new challenge over at Sweet Stampin, where this week our theme is WoW.  We are sponsored by our regular monthly sponsor Joanna Sheen, and our weekly sponsors are Letraset, and also one of my teamies Natali's own shop Iva Nova Chest - so some fabby prizes up for grabs!

For my card I used Ice Pearl Centura 300gsm cardstock and layered up embossed and die cut panels.  The dies are a mix of Spellbinder and Doo Hickey and the ribbon and pearly flowers are from stash.  I coloured this cute Tilda with ProMarkers and added some translucent glitter in crystal and pink.  This was my second attempt at this card and is actually re-constructed as my original Tilda looked too small and a bit lost against all the layers and dies.  As a result I'm still not very chuffed with it, but I will chalk this one down to experience! lol :)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Just Magnolia - Anything Goes

I have been a bit MIA or 'off the grid' the last couple of weeks due to our summer holidays, so I thought I would share with you a photo my husband took last night of Eilean Donan Castle.  This was featured in the film Highlander many years ago and I think one of the most iconic places in Scotland.  Its a favourite picnic spot of ours and also much better to visit when most of the tourists have gone home too! lol :D

I hope everyone has a smashing weekend, and thanks so much for visiting my blog today.  I shall be catching up over the next couple of days and thanks so much for all the lovely comments. :)

Charisma Cardz - Lovely Lace

Good Morning :)  Back again today with my last DT card for Charisma Cardz - boo hoo :(

I have had a fabulous time being part of the team, they are such a wonderful bunch of talented friendly girls, and I will miss them lots.  :)

Anyway, our new theme this week is 'Lovely Lace' and we are sponsored by the generous Joanna Sheen and the brilliant Meljens Designs - fabulous prizes!

I fancied a change from a square card, so dug out one of my old rectangle cards in 7 x 5 - it felt huge! lol :)  I stitched Anna Griffin papers onto bazzil kraft coloured cardstock and layered up more Anna Griffin embellies - the scroll die cuts and the holly leaves.   I also had a good rummage through some of my older stamps too and found some flourishy leaves which I stamped round Tilda in brushed corduroy DI.  I used a mixture of Cheery Lynn, Spellbinder and Doo Hickey dies, flowers from WOC, string from Joanna Sheen and cheesecloth from Amazon.

The gorgeous lace was a wonderful gift from my fabulous blogging buddy Judy, thanks so much hun! :)

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Crafts & Me - Autumn Colours
Dies to Die For - Anything Goes
Papertake Weekly - Pins & needles

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today and I will be catching up soon :)

Good Morning - Its such an exciting day today!!! We are showcasing some stunning new release dies on our Cheery Lynn Inspiration Blog so pop over and take a look at all the fabulous creations made by the DT!

This is a such a fun new release, packed with lots of different themes so I hope you find time to check them out, and I also hope you find time to enter our challenge this week too which is 'ABC' or 'Add a Letter'.

My card uses 3 of the new release dies: Spooky Tree, Ornamental Gate and just one of the gorgeous labels from the Sentiment Frames set.

I used a 6 x 6 card base and layered black bazzil cardstock, scrummy Prima Papers and the spiders web corner from the Lace Corner Deco H set for my background.

I then joined together 2 of the Ornamental Gate dies (to make a fence) and placed the Spooky Tree on top.

The fun letters were made from the LSLC alpabet set and I handwrote the 'To You' with a versamark pen and heat-embossed with white powder on the Mini Sentiment Label.  The moon was actually made from an insert from another of the really versatile mini-tags & labels.

I paper-pieced Tildas dress and shoes, and added dotty ribbon and googly eyes from stash.

Cheery Lynn Designs - Shaped Card

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone has been making the most of the gorgeous summery weather!  Its been beautiful here!

This week the Cheery Lynn DT were given some gorgeous Imaginisce products to play with, and I fell in love with this beautiful blue 12 x 12 paper from the Making Waves Collection!  These are double sided papers, great quality and really wonderful to work with.

Our new theme this week on the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge is 'Shaped Cards', so no squares or rectangles allowed! :D lol.

I made my own 6 x 6 shaped card base using the largest size French Flair Scalloped Stackers.  I folded a 12 x 12 piece of ice white 300gsm Centura pearl cardstock in half, and placed the top part of the die just a little above the crease so it still held itself intact.  I then layered alternate sheets of paper and card from the:

French Flair Scalloped Stackers - the 3 largest sizes
French Flair Silver Stackers - the 3 largest sizes
French Flair Doily Stacker - the 2 largest sizes (I love these doily dies!)

I then added a couple of mini flourishes and an exotic butterfly, centred my image on Scalloped Circle Stackers and Classic Circle Stackers and cut 3 starfish shapes from the leaves part of the Large Rose & Medium Rose dies!

I coloured my image with PM's, chalked the cloudy background and added ribbon, charm and pins from stash.  The sentiments are Pink Petticoat.  This was a totally new shape of card for me, and I have to say I was really pleased with the result and how well all the dies and layers just fitted together perfectly.

I hope you find time to join in this week, and dont forget if you leave a comment on the 'kickoff post' on the Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog you are in with another chance of winning a $20 gift certificate to spend online.  There is also more fabulous inspiration on the Imaginisce blog and a further chance to win a great prize there too! :)

Good morning :)  I hope everyone is having some half-decent weather and a good week so far? :)

Now whenever I stumble upon a WoW card in blogland it always takes my breath away, so I was delighted it was our challenge theme this week over on the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge blog.  Its a fabulous way to showcase your dies and looks so luxurious even though its quite simple to achieve really effective results.

For my card I started with a 6 x 6 card base and cut the elegant Cathedral Lace Frame and Border Carnivale out of American Crafts cardstock for the background.  I then used the 2nd smallest size Mini Pearl Oval Reflection die for my image backing and embellished the card with small butterflies, Flourish Leaves, layered flowers and pearls.

All dies used on this card are:

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge - Weddings/Anniversary

Good Morning :)  I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

Our new challenge over at Cheery Lynn Designs this week is to make something to celebrate either a Wedding or Anniversary, and this is a fabulous excuse to go really lavish and classy to create a special keepsake.  I decided upon White on White, as I love seeing what dimension and detail you can create from something that just started out as  a few sheets of the same pearl white card.

I used the gorgeous Polynesian Sails Oval frame for the centrepiece of this card as it has a real wow factor and is a great size for any image, and the Border Carnivale die is tucked just behind. I then set about making the flowers using Judy's Blooms and cutting 4 layers (using both large and small for the biggest flower), adding stamen from the Build A Flower set, and then holding them together with pearl brads. I love the way Cheery Lynn Dies have such embossed details especially on leaves and flower dies, it makes such a huge difference and works so well on pearl card.

All dies used on this card are:

This week is your last chance to enter our monthly competition to win a Big Shot Die Cutter and as always we have a fabulous weekly prize of $20 to spend online in our store too. I hope you find time to join in this week, and dont forget there is always wonderful daily inspiration from the rest of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog.
