Cheery Lynn Designs - Mega News and Make It Manly Challenge

Hi and Good Morning :),  Today I have some really exciting news about our new challenge over at the Cheery Lynn Designs blog where our theme this week is  'Make It Manly'.

We not only have a great prize on offer again this week, but also we have an additional, exciting incentive to play along! Each challenge entry during the month of June will get their name added to a drawing to win a BIG SHOT die cut machine! You may only enter the weekly challenge once but you can enter all four challenges during the month of June for a better shot at winning. The winner will be announced on July 2nd.

Now like many card-makers and crafters I struggle with making masculine creations, as without the bling, flowers and flourishes I always feel like I have put less effort into it, but with Cheery Lynn Dies, I can still go to town adding embellishments and focal points that are suitable for any occasion.  There is a great collection of corners, borders and scrolls that are intricate and fancy without being feminine.

I have used one of my favourite corners from the set - Lace Corner Deco H, added a flourish with the Mini Flourish One and also made the border from the offcut from Cuties 3 to add impact and detail to this card.

I also wanted to show on this project how versatile the Reflection dies can be, as not only do they go up to very large sizes, but they can also be sized down to make wonderful mats for your sentiments too.

I hand-stitched MME papers, used a super-cute Nellie Snellen stamp coloured with PM's and also used metallic PM's for highlights.

All dies used on this card are:

You have till Sunday to join in, so lots of time to enter and I look forward to visiting and seeing some gorgeous entries. There is also daily inspiration from the other talented members of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog.

I am entering this card in the below competitions:

Deep Ocean Challenge - Sewing/Stitching - real
The Stampman - Make it for a man
By the Cute & Girly - Cute as a button
Fussy & Fancy - Swirls/Flourishes
Saturday Challenge - Anything Goes
Emerald Faeries - Buttons
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes + Male
Lexis Creations - For the man/boy in our lives
My Mums Craft Shop - Bingo - Dies, Pearls, Flowers (wooden flower)
Creative Inspirations - Card for a male

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today,

Awe! How cute is your sweet little pirate, Alison? He's just adorable, and I love the sentiment. It reminds me of something my son once said when he was four... "When I grow up I want to be a human being, like my dad". Goodness knows what he thought he was - LOL!
