Podgy Bees - I ♥ Promarkers DT Card.

So, here I am today with a scheduled post, just in case my electricity is still down :(

Today is the start of a new challenge over on I ♥ Promarkers where this week the theme is pearls.  I LOVE pearls! We are sponsored this week by Digi Doodles who generously gave us some fab images to play with, and there are some great creations by the DT this week.

I have used a really fun digi-stamp (which I like to call 'podgy bees' lol) and you can get them in a great set including sentiments here.

Now, I love bees! They make me smile, they defy all the laws of nature, and shouldnt be able to fly!  I have been known to send my poor husband, risking life and limb,  into the bushes to photograph them close up! lol

Ta da!! ;)

So, I coloured my images with promarkers, hand stitched K&Co paper, and used spellbinders and Tim Holtz dies.  I used a MS punch and the pearls, charm and leaves were from stash.

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

2 Sisters Challenge - Use a digi
CES Challenges - Embellish it
One Stitch at a time - Bling it on
Paper Playtime - Just for fun, with a charm
Craft your Passion - Let it all hang out
Spoon Full of Sugar - Things with wings
Creative Card Crew - Anything Goes
Digital Tuesday - Texture - the leaves are latex!! (yeah lol)
Top Tip Tuesday - 2 or more stamps/digis
Passion for Promarkers - Use 2 - 2 images and 2 DP
Crafts and Me - Pearls and Gems

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, hopefully when I am back online I will catch up with my commenting,

Arrrgh, no electricity!

Just a quickie post from me today - as we have had no electricity since Monday :(

The severe storms here in Scotland yesterday, and last night have taken down trees and electricity cables nearby my home.  I am currently just one of the approx 42,000 homes across Scotland without any power, and I have no idea when we will be reconnected.

This doesnt even factor in that my satellite internet was apparently 'upgraded' on Saturday, with a marked degradation of service, and appalling low speed and frequent loss of connectivity. :( (I was not impressed at all!)

So, I have nipped out to my dads this morning, to get a warm drink, shower and to schedule my post for tomorrow.  I hope to be back with a bang as soon as possible.

Take care

Alison

Sweet Stampin DT Card - In The Garden

2nd Post of the Day

Awwww :) Aint she cute?

So, this week our theme on Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog is 'In The Garden', and we were given some super-cute Heather Ellis images to play with as our weekly sponsor.  I think I smiled the whole time I coloured this in :)  Our May monthly sponsor is Joanna Sheen so there really is some fabby prizes as well as some gorgeous inspiration from the rest of the DT over on the blog.

This card was quite quick and simple.  I hand-stitched the DP, used my favourite new spellbinder die to frame the image, and the sentiment is from an LOTV stamp set.

I will be entering this card in the below competitions:

One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
Cupcake Craft - In the Garden
Papertake Weekly - Bloom and Grow
The Stampman - Recipe - Stitches, ribbon, dies
2 Sisters - Use a digi

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today, have a great weekend,

Fairy Tales - One Stop Craft Challenge DT card

1st Post of the Day

So, firstly today, I am sharing my DT card for One Stop Craft Challenge, where this week the theme is Fairy Tales.   We are sponsored this week by Sassy Studio Designs, and we were given some gorgeous images to play with.  This is my take on Cinderella for this weeks challenge using Cinderella Honey.

I hand stitched HOTP papers, used spellbinder dies and paper-pieced the dress and tiara.  I made the paper flowers from one sheet of taffeta patterned paper and the large flower was from my new Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die.  This was the first time I had used this, and didnt have a clue what to do, so I just 'winged it', adopting the same layering principles that I use on my Marianne floral dies.  lol :)

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
Crafters Companion - Girls Birthday
CES Challenges - Embellish it
Crafty Cardmakers - Embossing
Crafts and Me - Anything Goes
Fab n' Funky - Make own Blooms
PaperPlay Challenges - Sparkle - I have glitter and pearls
The Stampman - Blue, ribbon, sparkle & bling
Creative Inspirations  - Glitzy and Bling - I have pearls and glitter on this card.

Crafts 4 Eternity - Flower, ribbon, bling
Creatilicious - Flourishes
Stamp Something - Beachy colours - I think this has seaside colours :)

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today, and hopefully if you get the time, you will check back later to see my 2nd DT card today,

The Godfather

I made this card for a friend who had just been asked to be a godfather to a little baby girl. :) Awww.

I told him that 'confirmed bachelors' often get asked to be godfathers, as it gives them someone to leave their 'misers' fortune to, instead of spending it all on Dr Who figures! ;) lol  (He will kill me if he reads this!)

Now I wasnt really sure about Christening cards, but I got heaps of really useful advice from my teamies at I ♥ Promarkers, and white on white seemed a popular choice.  The card is slightly softer looking in RL as the mirri board looked black until I brightened the picture a little.

I hand stitched and beaded the lace border.  I made the flowers using Marianne Dies and pearl paper, and also used spellbinders dies and card candi for lots of dimension.

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

Simon Says Stamp - Sparkle and Shine
Craft Your Days Away - White + one (pink)
Dream Valley - Old (pearl paper) New - Leaf die
One Stitch at a time - Anything Goes
The Shabby Tea Room - Photo insp, monochrome + pink
Spoon Full of Sugar - Anything goes
Fab n' Funky - Make own Blooms
PaperPlay - Sparkle
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today, and good luck to everyone entering these challenges.

Thanks Blogger - Under The Weather? - Charisma Cardz GDT

This is a re-post of this card, as the original was deleted due to Blogger Maintenance

Well, what a lot of pants and bobbins the last two days were, and now what a palava! :(

tut :) lol

This card was made as my second GDT project for Charisma Cardz this week, where the theme is 'under the weather'.  There are some great prizes and some fabulous inspiration from the DT, so well worth popping over and playing along if you have the time.

I used a Bugaboo digi-image from the 'Sunbonnets' collection, and they are all this cute!  I hand-stitched K&Co and Fizzy Moon papers, used Spellbinders and Marianne dies, and my favourite MS punch.

Now unfortunately, as the previous post was deleted - thanks again Blogger :(  I have lost all the lovely comments that were left, and as the downtime spread from last night through to most of today, I have been unable to visit back and I am gutted.  Sorry.

I think, though I am not sure, that I entered this card originally in the following competitions:

Moving Along with The Times - 2 B's - Blue and Bonnet
Crafts and Me - Punches
Papertake Weekly - Fancy a Punch
Catch the Bug - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for looking at my card, and good luck to everyone in these challenges,

We are sponsored this week by Robyns Fetish, which is brilliant because I recently won this cute image and hadn't yet had the chance to use it :)  It was lovely to colour, even though my natural instinct was to colour him black and white! lol. :D

I hand stitched K&Co Hannah papers, used Spellbinder and Marianne Dies and the roses are WOC.  The leaves and ribbon were from very old stash and the gorgeous button brad was sent all the way from Nebraska :)

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

Crafty Creations - Anything Goes
Cute Card Thursday - Chocolate colour
Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - Dust off your stash
Top Tip Tuesday - Flowers

Thanks so much for visiting my blog today and I really do appreciate every single comment.

Childhood Memories - Sweet Stampin DT Card

1st Post of the Day

Yay!  The Weekend :)  Hope everyone has some smashing plans for today.

This is my DT card for Sweet Stampin where our brand spanking new challenge this week is 'Childhood Memories'.  Our Monthly sponsor is the fabulous Joanna Sheen, and our weekly sponsor is Tiffany Doodles, so well worth playing along if you have the time.

Ahhhh, childhood memories - well I absolutely hated birthdays and parties when I was a kid, so this LOTV stamp was a definate for me.  I vividly remember kicking-off big time when I was six years old and scweeming the place down because I just didnt want to be 7, I  refused to budge either up or down the stairs for hours! :D lol.

I also gave my family a last minute panic on my 21st birthday by pretending not only that I didnt know they had planned a surprise party, but that I had no intention of being anywhere near the time and the place it was planned for! :)  How rotten am I? ;)

Anyway, my card: I used K&Co papers (from a mahoosive 12 x 12 pad that lasts forever), Card Candy, WOC roses and various punches and dies.  Checkout the fab creations by the rest of the DT, and I cant wait to see what everyone creates for this weeks theme.

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

Lets Ink It Up - Embellish it

Charisma Cardz - GDT :)

Today Im sharing my first project for Charisma Cardz as their GDT for May.  I love their challenges, so was really chuffed to be asked, even though it seems like ages ago since I announced it on my blog! lol. :)

Anyway, the theme this week is 'No Cards Allowed'.  Now, I spent a couple of days last week making boxes to store my cards in as they just dont look nice in envelopes when there are lots of embellies, and they are also quite hard to store.  I have been lucky enough to sell my cards in the past at the local hairdressers but it has now been sold, so am stuck with quite a few until I have time to do a craft fair.

I decorated one of my boxes with this cute image called Garden Mae from Some Odd Girl who are sponsoring the challenge this week.  I coloured her with PM's and I used MS punches and some scrap strips of card for the trellis design.  The DP is Kate Knight (freebie) and I used stickles for sparkle.

I am entering this in the below competitions:

Stamp Something - Things with wings
Totally Papercrafts - Glitter
Crafts 4 Eternity - Anything Goes - 2nd entry
Creative Inspirations - Digi Day
Spoonful of Sugar - White + one (blue)
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today, and I hope you find time to check out the other wonderful and inspirational projects by the rest of the DT.

I used this fab digi-image from Kenny K called Troublemaker, and coloured her with just 2 shades of blue PM's, 2 shades of grey and flesh tones.  I used Forever Friends DP, MS punches, various dies, and a touch of stickles for some sparkle.

Checkout the rest of the DT's gorgeous creations for inspiration, you will be amazed at some of the song-titles!
