Childhood Memories - Sweet Stampin DT Card

1st Post of the Day

Yay!  The Weekend :)  Hope everyone has some smashing plans for today.

This is my DT card for Sweet Stampin where our brand spanking new challenge this week is 'Childhood Memories'.  Our Monthly sponsor is the fabulous Joanna Sheen, and our weekly sponsor is Tiffany Doodles, so well worth playing along if you have the time.

Ahhhh, childhood memories - well I absolutely hated birthdays and parties when I was a kid, so this LOTV stamp was a definate for me.  I vividly remember kicking-off big time when I was six years old and scweeming the place down because I just didnt want to be 7, I  refused to budge either up or down the stairs for hours! :D lol.

I also gave my family a last minute panic on my 21st birthday by pretending not only that I didnt know they had planned a surprise party, but that I had no intention of being anywhere near the time and the place it was planned for! :)  How rotten am I? ;)

Anyway, my card: I used K&Co papers (from a mahoosive 12 x 12 pad that lasts forever), Card Candy, WOC roses and various punches and dies.  Checkout the fab creations by the rest of the DT, and I cant wait to see what everyone creates for this weeks theme.

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

Dream Valley Challenges - Flowers (2nd Entry)
Lets Ink It Up - Embellish it
Papertake Weekly - Anything Goes
Try it on Tuesday - Something Old (DP) Something  New (Stamp)
Ladybug Crafts Ink - Going Dotty
Passion for ProMarkers - Fit for a princess
Crafts and Me - Swirls
Prairie Fairy Fridays - For The Girls

Thanks so much for looking, and good luck to everyone in these challenges.

Gorgeous card sweetie I thought the papers looked familiar I have that MAHOOSIVE pad which always weighs a ton lol. Weren't you a stroppy one hunni your poor poor parents lol. I was like that when they brought me girly things I would go in a strop & nick my brothers toy cars lol.....which in return he would steal my music tapes which were my biggest love lol.
Fabulous card hunni.

Lotsa hugs Vicky xxx

So gorgeous Alison! I have those papers buried somewhere too - they look perfect with that image. I just love the way you put your cards together; everything always looks so right! I loved parties until I reached my 20s and now I hate them! xx

Gorgeous card Alison, have just made a card using the same image for my partners daughter hehe, I went with blue and lemon though, should really find a challenge for it but not finding the time at the mo.

On-line gaming is a bust as well atm as Soney have taken down all their on-line gaming as well as the PS2 stuff so thought I would get some card making done but still don't seem to be getting any made, oh well hehe

Off now to work on Father's day cards, need to make 3 for the boys to give to their dad plus its his birthday the day before!! Oh boy hehe xx

I too hate parties - always found them so stressful. For my 50th I made sure that my friend knew that I did NOT want a party - in the event I was too unwell to go anywhere or do much more than have her round for a few hours! Love the glittery bit of her skirt & the way you've coloured the underskirt - looks very real. I partiularly like the way the spots of the spotty paper echo the spots of the parcel - never mind the doily spots, candy spots & the ones in the striped panel - I'm seeing spots!!!But maybe that's because it is around 2am!!
