Fairy Tales - One Stop Craft Challenge DT card

1st Post of the Day

So, firstly today, I am sharing my DT card for One Stop Craft Challenge, where this week the theme is Fairy Tales.   We are sponsored this week by Sassy Studio Designs, and we were given some gorgeous images to play with.  This is my take on Cinderella for this weeks challenge using Cinderella Honey.

I hand stitched HOTP papers, used spellbinder dies and paper-pieced the dress and tiara.  I made the paper flowers from one sheet of taffeta patterned paper and the large flower was from my new Tim Holtz Tattered Florals Die.  This was the first time I had used this, and didnt have a clue what to do, so I just 'winged it', adopting the same layering principles that I use on my Marianne floral dies.  lol :)

I am entering this card in the following competitions:

One Stitch at a Time - Anything Goes
Crafters Companion - Girls Birthday
CES Challenges - Embellish it
Crafty Cardmakers - Embossing
Crafts and Me - Anything Goes
Fab n' Funky - Make own Blooms
PaperPlay Challenges - Sparkle - I have glitter and pearls
The Stampman - Blue, ribbon, sparkle & bling
Creative Inspirations  - Glitzy and Bling - I have pearls and glitter on this card.

Crafts 4 Eternity - Flower, ribbon, bling
Creatilicious - Flourishes
Stamp Something - Beachy colours - I think this has seaside colours :)

Thanks so much for looking at my blog today, and hopefully if you get the time, you will check back later to see my 2nd DT card today,

Hi Alison, what a gorgeous card! Love that Sassy image and you've coloured her brilliantly and if you winged it with that Tim Holtz flower, you should carry on like that, as it looks great! Hugs, Teresa x

I wish my flowers look that good when I wing-it! ;) Beautiful card Alison. That image is adorable, the way you colored it. Love the little pumpkin too! Have a great weekend!

Love the tiara & your 'winging' technique. I had to chuckle for Cinderella doesn't quite square with the 'Goth' image, black etc......

PS - love the way your spotted embossing picks up the pearl embellishments & her real princess look. Love that amazing shine on the pumpkin.

She is fabulous. I love the paper piecing you did. I think you're right...I am going to go look for paper that is lacey in nature so that I can redo Audrey. You did fabulous on this. Perfect!! The flowers are awesome too.
